Mary E. Joyce and William E. Lawson, both of Spencer, were married Aug. 16 at Heart to Heart Wedding Chapel in Martinsville. Pastor Carl Keith performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Fannie Belle Morris of Rocky Mount and the late Joseph Warren Morris. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Euell Eugene Robertson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse James Morris.
The bridegroom is the son of the late Harvey and Grace Lawson. He is the grandson of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Gunter and the late Sam and Pencie Lawson.
The bride was escorted by her son, Glenn Allen McBride of Bassett. She wore a satin halter-style gown with beading on the bodice, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and white and lavender lilies.
Maid of honor was Roxie Parcell of Snow Creek. She wore a strapless lavender satin gown and carried a bouquet of white roses and white lilies.
Flower girls were granddaughters of the bride Abigail McBride, Brittney McBride and Hanna Sherr, daughters of Glenn Allen McBride.
Best man was Dwight Critz of Patrick Springs.
Ushers were nephews of the bridegroom Steve Pratt of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Dusty Pratt of East Bend, N.C.
Ring bearer was Matthew McBride, grandson of the bride and son of Glenn Allen McBride.
A reception was held at the wedding chapel.
The couple took a honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
They live in Spencer.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Patrick Henry Community College. She is an LPN at Trinity Mission in Rocky Mount.
The bridegroom is a 1976 graduate of G.W. Carver High School. He is employed by Frith Construction Co. of Martinsville.
