Kristin Cook and Dustin Bower, both of Richmond, were married May 24 at The Gardens at Sunday Park in Midlothian. The Rev. Richard Cook of Manheim, Pa., father of the bride, performed the ceremony.
The bride is also the daughter of the late Karen Cook.
The bridegroom is the son of Dwight and Rhonda Bower and the grandson of Mary Bower, all of Bassett.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless chiffon gown with a train and carried a bouquet of pink peonies.
Matron of honor was Kimberly Hirvela of Novi, Mich., sister of the bride. She wore a pink strapless chiffon dress with a green sash and carried a bouquet of pink peonies.
Greta Van Tiem of Midlothian, sister of the bridegroom, served as bridesmaid. Her dress and bouquet matched those of the matron of honor.
Brian Camp of Richmond served as best man.
Martin Smith of Richmond served as groomsman.
Shawn Van Tiem of Midlothian, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, served as usher.
Ring bearers were Addison Van Tiem, nephew of the bridegroom and son of Shawn and Greta Van Tiem of Midlothian, and Owen and Kellen Hirvela, nephews of the bride and sons of Kimberly Hirvela.
A program of wedding music was provided by vocalist Brian Camp of Richmond and violinist Marissa Regni of Alexandria.
A reception was held in The Gardens at Sunday Park.
The couple took a honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
They live in Richmond.
The bride is a graduate of Adrian College in Adrian, Mich., with a bachelor’s degree and of The University of Virginia with a master’s degree. She is a teacher.
The bridegroom is a graduate of The University of Mary Washington with a bachelor’s degree. He is a golf course assistant superintendent.
Prior to the wedding, the couple were honored with showers on the following occasions: March 14 in Bassett, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Larry Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Ramsey, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hollandsworth and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Crabtree; and April 5 in Novi, hosted by Kimberly Hirvela.
