If you can make it to the Fieldale Trail early in the morning, these are some of the scenes that may reward your efforts. Above, the sun reflects on the Smith River, which is covered by fog, at the river access point at the head of the trail. The fog hovered over the water before the sun burned it off. Both photographs were taken about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday. (Bulletin photos by Mike Wray)
