The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of an elderly brother and sister whose bodies were found inside their home in Horsepasture on Tuesday, but foul play is not suspected.
Sheriff Lane Perry and Lt. Kimmy Nester declined to confirm the identities before autopises have been completed. That is scheduled to happen today at the medical examiner’s office in Roanoke, said Nester, who was at the home at 105 Wintergreen Drive late Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office was called after the victim’s next-door neighbors, Harbour and Sue Gilley, and their mail carrier realized their mailbox had not been checked for several days, Nester said.
Neither occupants of the home had been seen in several days, he added. |
