Erin Gayle Martin and Russell Wayne Jones, both of Elkin, N.C., were married Oct. 10 in Martinsville at the home of the bride’s parents, Darryl and Pam Martin. Dr. David Adkins performed the ceremony.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Frank and Geraldine Jarrett and Arnold and Janice Martin.
The bridegroom is the son of Wayne and Kathy Jones of Hamptonville, N.C. He is the grandson of John T. Jones of Booneville, N.C., and the late Billie Jones and the late James Shew and Joyce Stokes.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless gown with an English net overlay and beading and a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of orange and white roses, golden solidago, alstromeria lilies and green hypericum berries.
Tyra Jones of Elkin, daughter of the bridegroom, was the junior maid of honor. She wore an ivory satin dress with embroidered overlay and a brown sash and carried a basket of fall leaves.
Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Burrill of Chapel Hill, N.C., Stephanie Stultz of Hickory, N.C., and Crystal Williams of Siloam, N.C. They wore brown sleeveless dresses carried bouquets of orange roses, golden solidago and alstromeria lilies.
Andrew Jones of Elkin, son of the bridegroom, was the best man.
Groomsmen were brother of the bridegroom Jeffrey Jones of Hamptonville, N.C., John Brown of Hamptonville, and brother of the bride Michael Martin of Carrboro, N.C.
Jess Jarrett of Harrisonburg, cousin of the bride, and Peter Lener of Carrboro, nephew of the bride, were the ushers.
Jaylon Jones of Elkin, son of the bridegroom, was the ring bearer.
A reception was held at the home.
The couple took a honeymoon in Carolina Beach, N.C.
They live in Elkin.
The bride, a 2005 graduate of Appalachian State University, is a biology teacher at Elkin High School.
The bridegroom, a 1997 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, is employed by PQA Healthcare in Dobson, N.C.
Prior to the wedding, the couple were honored on the following occasions: Aug. 15, a miscellaneous shower at the home of Betty Robertson hosted by her, Robin Jarrett and Anne Stultz; Sept. 20, a recipe shower at Starling Avenue Baptist Church, hosted by the Care Group of the church; Sept. 27, a miscellaneous shower at United Fellowship Church in Hamptonville, hosted by family and friends of the bridegroom; and Oct. 1, a miscellaneous shower at Elkin High School, hosted by the staff.
