| Poll workers appreciated |

I would like to express my appreciation to all the poll workers who put in such a long day yesterday and every Election Day. For anyone who has never worked the polls, that is a very long day. You have to be at your polling place before 5 a.m. and you cannot leave the building for anything until the last vote is counted.
That can sometimes be after 9 p.m. That is 16 very long hours. And not very many folks stop to let them know how much it is appreciated. So if you know someone who works the polls, please say a big “thank you” and let them know that they are appreciated.
I did this for several years, so I know what I am talking about. You do this because you want to do it, not because you have to.
Everyone did a wonderful job.
