Three men were charged in connection with several break-ins and larcenies, and more than $4,000 worth of firearms were recovered, according to a release from Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith.
Matthew Lee Bowman, 21, of 6526 Dobyns Road, Claudville, was charged Thursday with three counts of grand larceny and two counts of breaking and entering, according to a report. All of the charges are felonies.
Bowman was charged in connection with incidents that occurred Oct. 28, the report said. It did not say where the incidents occurred.
Bowman was being held without bond, said the report.
Joseph Michael Murphy, 23, of 1111 Creasy Road, Lawsonville, N.C., was charged Thursday with two counts of felony possess with intent to sell stolen property, one count of felony breaking and entering accessory before the fact, one count of felony buy/receive stolen goods and one count of misdemeanor carry a concealed weapon, according to a report.
Murphy was charged in connection with an incident that occurred Nov. 5, said the report. Further details of the incident were not provided.
He was released on $7,500 unsecured bond, the report said.
Jeffery Matthew Steven Murphy, 23, of 704 Russell Gunter Drive, Stuart, was charged Thursday with breaking and entering and grand larceny, both felonies, according to a report.
Murphy was charged in connection with an Oct. 27 incident, said the report. It did not say where the incident occurred.
He was being held without bond, said the report.
Smith said investigators recovered more than $4,000 worth of stolen firearms as result of the ongoing investigation that involved several break-ins and larcenies. The incidents occurred in the Stuart area over the last two weeks, he said.
In a separate report, Harry Kevin Handy, 37, of 1863 Cherry Creek Road, Meadows of Dan, was charged with felony abduction, felony malicious wounding, misdemeanor brandish a firearm and misdemeanor violation of a protective order, the report showed.
Handy was charged in connection with an incident that day, and he was being held without bond, the report said.
