Missing woman sought
Stuart woman last seen Dec. 9

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

By AMANDA BUCK - Bulletin Staff Writer

The Patrick County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information about a 50-year-old Stuart woman who has been missing since Dec. 9.

Letisha “Tish” Marie Faust last was seen in Floyd when she filled a prescription in a pharmacy there, said Patrick County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Betsy Layman. Faust called her mother that day and said she would be home shortly, but she never made it, Layman said.

Faust might have been driving south on the Blue Ridge Parkway in a white Honda Accord, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The Virginia State Police did a flyover of the route Faust would have taken last week, Layman said, but no signs were found of an accident or of the vehicle.

Faust is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, of medium build and weighs about 170 pounds, according to the news release. She has wavy dark brown hair and wears round glasses with dark frames, the release said.

The Accord has a Virginia license plate number JYD 1443, and it has a sun roof, the release said.

Family members contacted police a couple of days after they last heard from Faust, and investigators have been working the case since, Layman said.

“With her being age 50, you don’t know if someone’s just left or if something is wrong” when a report first is made, Layman said. “As time has passed, we have increased getting the message out, and we’re trying to get more and more information out about her.”

Officers do not have any leads at this time, she said.

Anyone who has seen Faust or the Accord is asked to call Layman or Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith at 694-3161.
