Dozens of volunteers served hundreds of meals on Christmas morning in the annual Community Christmas Dinner.
The volunteers gathered at First Baptist Church in Martinsville, where they filled boxes with turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, bread and cranberry sauce. Desserts were boxed separately.
Here, Greta Draper of Martinsville (right) fills boxes held by Kay Holbrook of Wilmington, Del., who was in town visiting her sister and decided to volunteer. Also seen serving are Sally Mahan of Martinsville (second from right) and Paul Wormald of Ridgeway.
After the boxes were filled and packed, drivers delivered them to people throughout the area who had requested meals. Some also ate at the church.
The dinner, organized by Scott Norman, was co-sponsored this year by Grace Network.
