Patrick County's varsity volleyball team recorded its first win of the season Monday downing Westover Christian Academy in five games in Stuart.

The Lady Cougars won 14-25, 25-22, 25-18, 15-25 and 15-11 to get the season started on the right foot.

Kristy Bowers recorded 12 points for PCHS, Hannah Helbert helped with 11 points, 11 kills and seven aces and Ginna Williams added 28 assists and eight points in the win.

PCHS next plays at 7 p.m. today when they travel to Carroll County.

Lady Cougars jayvee gets first win

Patrick County's jayvee volleyball team downed Westover Christian Academy in two games Monday to record its first win of the season Monday in Stuart.

PCHS won 26-24 and 25-17.

The Lady Cougars were led by Samantha Smith and Katherine Massey.

Smith recorded eight points and five aces while Massey aided her team with seven points.

PCHS plays again today when they travel to Carroll County.
