Friday, Feb. 3

Fraternal Order of Police, Patrick Henry Lodge 73, breakfast/meeting: 8 a.m. at The Sirloin House, Martinsville. Fundraising and directors report from meeting in Richmond will be discussed. All law enforcement officers and family members invited.

Friday Night dinner and dance at the Bassett Moose Lodge. Doors open for dinner (from the menu) at 6 p.m.; dance starts at 7 p.m. with music by The Southern Fire Band. Smoke free; family friendly; and chances to win prizes.

John Redd Elementary School PTO will sponsor Longaberger/Vera Bradley Bingo with proceeds to benefit school activities. The cost will be $20 (includes 20 games), and there will be two special games available for an additional fee. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with concessions available. Bingo will start at 7 p.m. Additional tickets will be sold at $1 each for door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and a raffle.

The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be stationed at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office: 1-5 p.m. for blood donations from anyone.

Dan River Basin Association’s First Saturday Outing: 10 a.m. for a 2-mile hike on Stuart’s Knob Trail at Fairystone State Park. Meet on Virginia 623 (Union Bridge Road). Free and open to the public.
