• The Martinsville-Henry County Bar Association for recognizing two local attorney’s contributions to the community. The bar has begun the Mike Cannaday Award to honor the long-time attorney known for his spirit, good humor and outgoing personality. The first Cannaday award was given to attorney R. Reid Young III, who has spearheaded a local campaign against litter and also works with the USMC Scout-Sniper Association which provides active-duty snipers with equipment and gear. Both men are deserving of the recognition and the community’s thanks.
