SPCA deserves support
Wednesday, April 11, 2012
It’s really not necessary to mention all the things pets do for us humans, especially as we grow older and feeble and lonely.
Our relatively new (SPCA) facility just off U.S. 220 around the corner from Kmart just knocks you over when you first visit it. And the people who work there are so friendly and helpful. You can tell they love animals, too.
In “Leaves of Grass,” Brooklyn’s finest newspaper publisher as well as probably America’s greatest poet (Walt Whitman) says it all with “I think I could turn and live with animals; they are so placid and self contained. ... Not one is responsible or industrious over the whole earth ... Not one is demented with the mania of owning things.”
Let’s all get together and give our support to one of Henry County’s finest achievements ever!
