New College Institute will host a public hearing on its proposed building on the Baldwin Block: 6 p.m. in the library at Albert Harris Elementary School.

Public hearing on the proposed fiscal 2012-13 Henry County budget: 7 p.m., first-floor meeting room, Henry County Administration Building.

Henry County Public Service Authority: 5:30 p.m., fourth-floor conference room, Henry County Administration Building.

Dine at Mi Ranchito restaurant from 5-10 p.m. and a percentage of the sales will go to the Martinsville High School After-Prom Committee to fund the party, which will be April 21 at the Martinsville Speedway.

Bingo at the Martinsville Elks Lodge on Fairy Street. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Early games will begin at 6:30 p.m., regular games at 7 p.m. Proceeds will support local charities and veteran and youth activities.

Henry County Parks and Recreation Senior Services will sponsor QVC featured artist, Karen Eggleston, who will teach the Art of the Month class: 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Collinsville Branch Library. The art class will be painting a goldfish on a large vase-fishbowl. Bring paint brushes and an apron. The cost of $15 includes supplies. To pre-register or for more information call 634-4644.

The first of six free diabetes awareness classes: 6-8 p.m. at the Spencer-Penn Centre, presented by the Martinsville Henry County Coalition for Health and Wellness. Learn about how to better manage diabetes. The classes are for anyone who has a family history of diabetes, has been told he/she is pre-diabetic or has received a diagnosis of diabetes. Margaret Caldwell, a representative of Patrick Henry Community College, will be at the Martinsville-Henry County Health Department from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. to provide information about the On-Ramp Grant program. This grant helps qualified unemployed/under-employed adults enroll in college training programs. For more information, call 656-5464.
