Kayla Danielle Lankford of Fieldale and Joshua Wayne Roark of Collinsville were married on March 17 at Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Patrick County. Ed Hartman performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Michelle Hopkins of Fieldale. She is the granddaughter of Nancy Ann Scott of Collinsville and the late Elmo Garrett Scott, and Bobbi Moose of Bedford.
The bridegroom is the son of Jeff and Candace Roark of Collinsville. He is the grandson of Leonard and Brenda Hurd of Collinsville, Shirley Roark of Spencer and the late Rayford Roark, and the late Bonnie Schellings.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a beaded silk A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and a short veil. She carried a bouquet of white and yellow daffodils and buttercups.
The bride’s mother was the matron of honor. She wore a black and white dress and carried a bouquet similar to the bride’s.
The bridegroom’s father was the best man.
A reception was held at the bridegroom’s grandparents’ house in Collinsville.
The couple took a honeymoon in Roanoke.
The couple will be assigned a station once the bridegroom finishes Army basic training.
The bride, a 2009 graduate of Bassett High School, is employed by First Baptist Church day care in Martinsville.
The bridegroom is a 2009 graduate of Magna Vista High School and is in the Army with a military occupational specialty of computer technology.
Before the wedding, friends of the couple held an engagement party for them at Sportlanes.
