Suspect in abduction case turns himself in

A man being sought in connection with an alleged abduction case turned himself in to the Martinsville Police Department on Wednesday, according to a news release.
Jerome Keith Wade, 19, of 81 Honey Drive, Bassett, is being held in the Martinsville Jail under no bond, the release stated.
He has been charged with malicious wounding; conspiracy to commit malicious wounding; abduction; and robbery, according to an earlier news release.
Also facing the same charges in the incident is Travis Deon Stanley, 19, of 3205 Bassett Heights, Bassett, according to the city police. Stanley was arrested May 12, and he also is being held with no bond in the Martinsville Jail.
Around 9:52 p.m. April 14, Martinsville police officers responded to 918 Blankenship Road in reference to an assault/possible abduction, the earlier news release stated. Officers found what appeared to be blood on the pavement as well as a shoe that belonged to a person who was assaulted, knocked unconscious and put in a dark-colored vehicle that fled the scene, the release stated.
The man also was robbed of money, according to the release.
At about 10:10 p.m. that day, a second 911 call was received from a residence on Oak Street advising there was a male on the porch bleeding and asking for help, the release stated. That person was taken to Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, where he was treated for multiple stab wounds to his torso and arm and released later the next day. His injuries were not life threatening, the release stated.
