To care for ill relatives out of the area

Drusilla Carter has resigned as director of the Blue Ridge Library System, according to the library board chairman.
Chairman Paul Burnette said Carter notified her Friday that she was leaving to care for ill relatives in Connecticut.
Carter’s aunt and uncle, who raised her after her parents died, are ill and Carter plans to move there to care for them, Burnette said.
Her resignation probably will be effective in mid-July, Burnette said. She added that she was trying to reach library board members to arrange a meeting to determine how to proceed.
