Sarah Margaret Vernon of Martinsville and Joseph Dale Nemeth Jr. of Bassett were married on May 19 at Stone Memorial Christian Church in Collinsville. Pastor Terry Dalton performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Kathy Vernon of Martinsville. She is the granddaughter of Linwood and Nancy Stone of Collinsville and Margaret Vernon of Bassett and the late Robert L. Vernon Jr.
The bridegroom is the son of Joseph and Joyce Nemeth of Bassett. He is the grandson of Kenneth and Doris Clifton of Collinsville and Shelby Nemeth.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless charmeuse gown with beaded applique, a side drape and a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of orange and white Gerbera daisies.
Sister of the bride Jessica Vernon of Martinsville was the maid of honor. She wore a strapless chiffon dress and carried a bouquet of orange and white Gerbera daisies.
Bridesmaids were Samantha Tolbert of Bassett and Jessica Robertson of Rocky Mount. Their dresses and bouquets were similar to those of the maid of honor.
Cousin of the bride Kayla Falde, daughter of Kurt and Tara Falde of Clover, S.C., was the flower girl.
The father of the bridegroom was the best man.
Groomsmen were uncle of the bridegroom Kenneth Clifton of Stokesdale, N.C., and Joe Hylton of Bassett.
Michael Vernon, nephew of the bride and son of Mike and Rebeca Vernon of Ridgeway, was the ring bearer.
William Hampton of Stokesdale, N.C., played the piano.
A reception was held at the church.
The couple took a honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
They live in Fieldale.
The bride is a 2010 graduate of Bassett High School and a 2012 graduate of Patrick Henry Community College with an associate degree in general studies. She is employed by WalMart.
The bridegroom is a 2009 homeschool graduate of Southeastern Academy. He is employed by WalMart.
Prior to the wedding, the couple was honored on the following occasions: April 29, a bridal shower at Stone Memorial Christian Church, hosted by the Vernon and Nemeth families, and May 18, a rehearsal dinner at El Ranchito, hosted by Joey and Joyce Nemeth.
