Forty indicted by city grand jury

Grand jurors in Martinsville indicted 40 people Monday on a total of 62 indictments.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt. It is a grand jury’s determination that enough evidence exists to hold a trial.
Among the 40 people indicted were:
• Both Jerome Keith Wade, 19, 81 Honey Drive, Bassett, and Travis Deon Stanley, 19, 3205 Bassett Heights Ext., Bassett, one count each malicious wounding, abduction, conspiracy and robbery, April 14.
• William Anthony Towler, 46, 765 Southland Drive, Martinsville, one count each possess ammunition by convicted felon and possess firearm by convicted felon, March 30.
• Daniel G. Bateman Jr., 30, 290 Bowles Road, Collinsville, felony elude police, March 28.
• Ryan Garcia Wilhelm, 20, 88 Garrett Road, Ridgeway, possess firearm by convicted felon, March 30.
• William Blake Ryan, 26, 276 Bowens Creek Road, Bassett, or 38 Eastwood Mobile Home Park, Axton, unauthorized use of vehicle, March 6.
• Kevin Stephen Millner, 38, 2160 Horsepasture Price Road, Ridgeway, attempted grand larceny, Feb. 26.
• Darrell Keith Taylor, 45, 526 Franklin St., Martinsville, three counts shoplifting, third offense, March 10.
• Carlton Lee Stanley, 53, 161 Grayleaf Circle, Martinsville, possess cocaine, Feb. 4.
• Greg Mosby, 20, 610 Stultz Road, Martinsville, one count each statutory burglary and possess burglary tools, March 24.
• Darol Eugene Meeks Jr., 36, 189 Norton Road, Bassett, possess methamphetamine, Oct. 24.
• Bernard (no middle name) Martin Jr., 28, 152 Chip Circle, Collinsville, possess marijuana with intent to distribute, Feb. 15.
• Sheyna Royell Lowe, 22, 1316 Laurel Lane, Martinsville, assault and batter police officer, April 16.
• James Edward Hinson, 22, 810 Princeton St., Martinsville, assault and batter police officer, Feb. 22.
