Kerry Lynn Gravely and Calvin Thomas Cropper Jr., both of Alexandria, were married on June 2 at New Bethel Christian Church in Fieldale. The Rev. Thomas Penn, uncle of the bride, performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Janis and Marvin Monroe Gravely of Martinsville. She is the granddaughter of Doris Gravely of Martinsville and the late Robert Gravely, and the late Douglas and Martha Penn.

The bridegroom is the son of Erledina and Calvin Thomas Cropper Sr. of Hopewell. He is the grandson of Albert and Alice Cropper of Temperanceville and Jeanette Feddeman of Parksley and the late Earl Feddeman.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless mermaid-silhouette gown with a cathedral-length veil. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses.

The bride was attended by her sisters Marlana Gravely of Woodbridge as maid of honor and Kimberly Fuller of Martinsville as matron of honor. They wore dark red one-shoulder gowns.

Bridesmaids were Shanice Foster of Brooklyn, New York, April Johnson of Norfolk, Alisha Niblett of Los Angeles, Tiffany Robinson of Richmond and Dastina Johnson of Dover, Del. Their gowns and bouquets matched those of the other attendants.

Alexia Taylor, daughter of Theresa Taylor of Richmond, was the junior bridesmaid.

Flower girls were cousin of the bride Koane Daily, daughter of Gerry and Alisia Daily or Richmond, and nieces of the bride Ja’Da Eggleston-Wade, daughter of Brandon Wade and Dreama Eggleston of Martinsville, and Kyra Fuller, daughter of Orenthal and Kimberly Fuller of Martinsville.

Best man was Michael Currie of Fredricksburg.

Groomsmen were cousins of the bridegroom Kevin Cropper of Oak Hill and Keyone Cropper of Tampa, Fla.; Daniel Harawa and Leander Skeete of Alexandria; Jamal Parker of Richmond; and nephew of the bride Brandon Wade of Martinsville.

Ushers were P.J. Dunn of Woodbridge, Dimetrius Simon of Washington, D.C., and Matthew Jackson of Manassas.

Louandrea Young and Jamar Tyree of Fieldale sang and played piano.

A reception was held at the Virginia Museum of Natural History.

The couple took a honeymoon in Hawaii.

They live in Alexandria.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Martinsville High School and a 2007 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a radiation therapist in Falls Church.

The bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of Prince George High School and a 2009 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. He is employed by David Hale Associates.

Prior to the wedding, the couple were honored on the following occasions: April 14, a bridal shower in Bowie, Md., hosted by the bridesmaids; May 18, a wedding shower luncheon in Falls Church, hosted by the INOVA Fairfax Radiation Oncology Dept.; and May 31, a bridal shower in Martinsville, hosted by the sisters of the bride.
