County man charged in hit and run case

A Henry County man has been charged with felony hit and run in connection with a fatal accident in Pittsylvania County last Saturday, according to a release from the Virginia State Police.
Brian Keith Cole, 39, of Axton, turned himself into troopers today and was placed under arrest for felony hit and run, the release stated. He is being held at Pittsylvania County Jail on a $5,000 bond, it added.
Thomas Lewis Bradner, 42, of Callands, died after he allegedly was struck while he was walking in an unknown direction on Rt. 41, according to an early state police release. It added that the vehicle allegedly left the scene.
