Brittany Alexis Schiltz of Moore, S.C., and Evan Tyler Eggleston of Beaufort, S.C., were married on July 21 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Moore. The Rev. Brannon Poore and Bud Brooks performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Gene and Teresa Schiltz of Moore. She is the granddaughter of Ralph and Betty Ray of Moore and Martha Schiltz of Spartanburg, S.C., and the late C.E. Schiltz Sr.
The bridegroom is the son of Michael and Rhonda Eggleston of Martinsville. He is the grandson of G. Wesley Eggleston of Martinsville and the late Helen C. Eggleston and Thomas and Patricia George of Martinsville.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a taffeta gown with a ruffled halter top and pockets, and her mother’s cathedral-length sheer veil. She carried a bouquet of pink roses.
The bride’s honor attendant was Kyle Worthy of Jacksonville, Fla. He wore a blue seersucker suit with a white shirt and pink tie.
Bridesmaids were Meghan Eggleston of Martinsville, sister-in-law of the bridegroom; Jodi Burnett of Spartanburg; Morgan Jenkins of Ninety-Six, S.C., and Julie Mercado of Greer, S.C. They wore short pink strapless dresses and carried bouquets of pink roses.
MacKenzie Edwards, daughter of D.J. and Kelly Edwards of Greer, was the flower girl.
The bridegroom’s father was the best man.
Groomsmen were Eric Eggleston of Martinsville, brother of the bridegroom; Clarence Schiltz III of Moore, brother of the bride; Jonathan Pace of Dawsonville, Ga.; and Deven Covington of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Ring bearer was Jackson Walker, son of Justin and Jenna Walker of Newport News.
A program of wedding music was provided by soloist Amanda Vickery and pianist Kay Young.
A reception was held in Holly Hall at Carolina Country Club.
The couple took a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean.
They live in Beaufort.
The bride is a 2011 graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in wildlife sciences. He is a wildlife technician for the U.S. Department of Wildlife Services at the Beaufort (S.C.) Marine Corps Air Station.
Prior to the wedding, the couple were honored on the following occasions: April 14, a household shower in Martinsville, hosted by the family of the bridegroom; May 6, a household shower in Spartanburg, hosted by the bride’s family and friends; May 26, a household shower in Myrtle Beach, hosted by the bride’s brother and friends of the bridegroom; and July 20, a rehearsal dinner in Spartanburg, hosted by Mike and Rhonda Eggleston, and a bridal luncheon in Moore, hosted by Kay Young.
