Holly Elder and Robert A. Whorley Jr., both of Bassett, were married on June 16 at Fairy Stone State Park. Pastor Timothy Waller performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of William and Deborah Elder of Patrick Springs.
The bridegroom is the son of Teresa and Ray Foster of Figsboro.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless, beaded gown with a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses, purple wax flowers and alstremeria.
Bridesmaids were sister of the bride Tammy Elder of Patrick Springs; daughter of the bridegroom Alexus Whorley of Bassett; and cousin of the bride Amanda Macri of Baltimore. They wore purple taffeta dresses and carried bouquets of ivory roses.
The groomsmen were the father of the bridegroom; Dwayne Kirks of Martinsville; and son of the bridegroom Steven Whorley of Bassett. The ushers were step-brothers of the bridegroom Shannon Foster of Martinsville and Teddy Moran of Bassett.
A reception was held at Fayerdale Hall in Fairystone State Park.
The couple took a honeymoon to Myrtle Beach, S.C.
They live in Bassett.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Magna Vista High School and is employed by GSI Commerce.
The bridegroom is a 1995 graduate of Bassett High School and is the owner of Whorley’s Construction.
