Music Night at Spencer-Penn Centre. Doors open at 5 p.m. with concessions; open mic at 5:30 p.m. Bands begin at 6:30 with Sue Nester and Friends; Zephyr Lightning Bolts and Sweetwater. Admission: $3 donation.

Senior Dance at American Legion Pannill Post 42, Cabell Street, Martinsville: 7-10 p.m. today and Saturday with music by Bobby Crum and “Avalance.” Admission: $6 a person. Food will be available by the legion ladies auxiliary.

Staff members from 5th District U.S. Rep. Robert Hurt’s office will be at the Henry County Administration Building, Room 2, from 9-11 a.m. to meet with constituents who need help with federal agencies.

Turkey shoot at Smith River Wildlife Club, Charity Highway, Woolwine, sponsored by the non-profit wildlife club, on Fridays through Nov. 23: 7 p.m. Trophy will be awarded each night. Factory chokes only; no sleeves or rechokes.

Fall Festival: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Figsboro Ruritan Club with brunswick stew; fried chicken lunch with all sides; free corn hole, inflatable slides and games for kids, and a community yard sale. Musical entertainment featuring Ken Lester and Co. Singers at 10 a.m., followed by Gills Creek Grass, Southern Breeze and Southern Gentlemen.

Hamburger steak dinner and chain saw competition at Patrick-Henry Volunteer Fire Department. Steak dinner served from 4 to 7 p.m.; eat in or take out at $7. Call 629-7677 for large takeout orders. Chain saw registration will start at 2 p.m., race at 3 p.m. Trophies will be awarded.

Brunswick stew, including a limited amount of Tex-Mex stew, at $6 a quart, eat in or take out beginning at 10:30 a.m.; fried chicken lunch with side orders and biscuits, eat in or take out beginning at 11 a.m.; also, a bake sale and apple butter will be available for sale at Horsepasture Ruritan Club. The meal will include barbecue and all the fixings and dessert. A $10 donation per person is suggested, with all proceeds to go to the scholarship fund. Spaghetti dinner at the Bassett Rescue Squad Boat House, by the Bassett Rescue Squad Auxiliary: 4-7 p.m. Complete meal and drink for $6, adults; age 6 and under eat free.

Henry County Surplus Auction, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Henry County Service Center on Fairystone Park Highway, Bassett. For sale: Surplus equipment (lawn tractors etc.), vehicles, school buses, office desks, chairs and shelves and more; also, unclaimed person property. Cash or certified cashier’s check only; no personal checks.

Fish fry at Carver Road Ruritan Club: 10:30 am until 2 p.m. Eat-in or carry-out at $6.50 per plate, includes all sides and dessert. Sandwiches are $3.50. Soft drinks will be available for purchase.

Free Community Meal and Clothes Closet: 9 a.m. until noon, at Community Fellowship Church in the Collinsville Shopping Center. Open to anyone.

A pinto bean supper and bluegrass concert to benefit the Bachelors Hall Volunteer Fire Department will be held from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at the fire station on Berry Hill Road, one mile off U.S. 58 West. Tickets are $7 and include the supper. The concert will feature Johnny and Jeanette Williams and Friends (Catherine Conner and Carroll Arnn) and Plumb Nearly.
