Agency helped solve 13 cases in 2011

In 2011, Crime Stoppers was directly instrumental in helping law enforcement authorities solve a total of 13 cases, including bringing six fugitives to justice; three cases each of burglaries and malicious woundings; one case each of homicide, armed robbery, larceny and other, according to data provided by the agency.
In the same time frame, the agency was directly involved in helping recover $1,000 in stolen property, and awarding $2,400 in reward money to anonymous callers.
Since the agency’s inception in 1982, it has been instrumental in helping solve 32 homicides; 44 armed robberies; three cases of arson; 23 malicious woundings; 27 auto larcenies; 87 burglaries; eight cases of fraud/forgery; 81 fugitives; 108 larcenies; 508 narcotics cases; two rapes and 90 crimes in other categories, according to data.
Since it began, the agency has been instrumental in recovering $474,599 of stolen property; nearly $3 million in narcotics; and paid rewards totaling more than $71,615.
