Memorial Hospital in Martinsville has joined the list of Martinsville Speedway sponsors as the official on-site care provider at Martinsville Speedway.
The agreement went into effect on Sept. 20 to provide medical care for the Infield Care Center and the new Fan Care Center, according to a news release. The new Fan Care Center will be open for the TUMS Fast Relief 500 on Sunday.
“It’s an honor for Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County to be chosen as the official onsite care provider for the Martinsville Speedway,” said Skip Philips, chief executive officer for Memorial Hospital, according to the release. “And we look forward to creating one of the most exciting partnerships in all of professional sports.”
The Fan Care Center is located adjacent to turn four of the race in the display area. Fans are urged to take note of the location in case medical attention is needed.
“Martinsville Speedway takes the safety of its fans and NASCAR affiliates very seriously,” the release quotes speedway President Clay Campbell. “We are pleased to welcome Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County and their highly skilled medical team to the Martinsville Speedway.”
Treatment provided at the center will include minor to moderate medical conditions and injuries. Those who have more serious injuries or illnesses will be stabilized and sent to Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment, the release states.
