America got it wrong
Thursday, November 8, 2012
It’s been said, “It takes a man to admit wrong.” Okay, here goes: “You got it wrong, America.”
We may have ordered Russia to “tear down this wall” (President Ronald Reagan, June 12, 1987) but don’t forget this:
“We will take America without firing a shot ... We will bury you. We can’t expect the American people to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have communism. We do not have to invade the United States; we will destroy you from within.” Attributed to: Nikita Khrushchev; from an address to Western Ambassadors, at the Polish embassy in Moscow on Nov. 18, 1956.
Perhaps (former Sen.) Joe McCarthy was on to something after all. Can you say “socialism”?
It appears Khrushchev called his home run, like Babe Ruth did in the fifth inning of Game 3 of the 1932 World Series.
Although P.T. Barnum is credited with the phrase, “there’s a sucker born every minute,” the true author isn’t known. However, in my opinion, the phrase applies here to Tuesday’s election and to any future elections with socialists running for offices.
Perhaps we should petition our boards of educations to remove history from the curriculum, like the leader of Iran, who says the Holocaust didn’t occur, and let the students use the time to text each other. I would have said “recess”; however, we wouldn’t want to let them get some exercise now, would we? It appears nothing is either being learned or applied from history’s substance. C’mon man.
I’m just say’n…
