Kerielea Vestal Myers of Martinsville and Anthony Edwin Byrd of Woolwine were married on Oct. 27 at Griffith Valley in Woolwine. Mary Abelin Stavast of Eden Prairie, Minn., performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jack and Diane Vestal of Stuart.
The bridegroom is the son of the late Edwin Byrd, Bernadine Byrd and Bessie Byrd. His daughter is Angie Byrd Dillon of Ridgeway.
The bride was escorted by her children. She wore a strapless dress with a light taupe overlay and carried a bouquet of calla lilies, purple thistle, mini roses and greenery.
The bride’s daughter, Emmye E. Myers of Martinsville, was the maid of honor, and the matron of honor was Susan M. Selman of Martinsville.
Best man was brother of the groom Wesley Byrd of Charlotte, N.C.
The bride’s son, John-Thomas Myers of Martinsville, was the groomsman.
Ushers were brother of the bride Tom Vestal of Cary, N.C.; and grandsons of the bridegroom Aarron and Andy Dillon of Ridgeway.
Ring bearer was grandson of the bridegroom Thomas Dillon, son of Angie Byrd Dillon of Ridgeway, the bridegroom’s daughter.
Dean Smith played guitar and sang, and Montana Young played the fiddle and sang. Dr. John Selman gave the blessing, and Dr. Ruff Wheless spoke.
A reception was held at The Homeplace in Griffith Valley.
The couple took a honeymoon to Blowing Rock, N.C.
They live in Griffith Valley in Woolwine.
The bride is a surgical assistant for Dr. John R. Wheless III in Martinsville.
The bridegroom is the owner of Anthony Byrd Construction.
Prior to the wedding, the couple were honored with a bridal shower at the home of Kristen Jarrett, hosted by Tammy Robertson and Janet Branscome, and a rehearsal dinner at the bridegroom’s home, hosted by John and Susan Selman. After the wedding, Jack and Diane Vestal hosted a party in Griffith Valley.
