April Dawn Hartzog and John Martin “Jay” Franck Jr., both of Asheville, N.C. were married on Sept. 29 at the Graystone Inn in Roaring Gap, N.C. The Rev. Russell Ingersoll performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Brenda Hartzog of Angie, La., and the late Gary Hartzog. She is the granddaughter of Felder Hartzog of Sandy Hook, Miss., and the late Maxine Hartzog and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ruffin Thomas.

The bridegroom is the son of Jane and John Martin Franck of Martinsville. He is the grandson of Carolyn and William Franck of Martinsville and Barbara Reilley of Baton Rouge, La., and the late John Ford Reilley.

The bride was escorted by her mother and her brother, Cole Hartzog of Baton Rouge, La. She wore an A-line gown with an empire waistline and strapless sweetheart neckline with chantilly lace overlay, embroidery, crystals and a shoulder-length veil and a semi-chapel train. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white and orange dahlia, scabiosa, scabiosa pods, echinacea pods, succulents, wheat, lavender, rosemary, chamomile, dusty miller and celosia wrapped with burlap, lace and heirloom jewelry.

Maid of honor was Rebecca Pitre of Dallas. She wore a light green silk chiffon dress and carried a bouquet of orange dahlia, dusty miller, craspedia and chamomile.

Bridesmaid was Natalee Rowe of East Glacier, Mont. Her dress and bouquet matched those of the maid of honor.

Best man was brother of the bridegroom Davis Franck of Richmond.

Groomsman was brother of the bridegroom Daniel Franck of Martinsville.

A program of wedding music was provided by Win Webster playing guitar, Bill Turner playing banjo and Matt Blue playing upright bass. They all live in Asheville.

A reception was held at Graystone Inn.

The couple took a honeymoon to Curacao.

They live in Asheville.

The bride is a 2010 graduate of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. She is a registered nurse at Mission Hospital.

The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Martinsville High School and a 2007 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a graphic designer for Chatmoss Web Systems.

Prior to the wedding, the couple were honored on Sept. 28 with a rehearsal dinner at the Roaring Gap Boathouse. It was hosted by the bridegroom’s parents, Moe and Babs Athmann, Kelly and Janice Cain, Sandy and Catherine Harcus, Jeff and Laurie Irby, David and Karen Jones, Richard and Donna Lawhorn, Ben and Debbie Lewis, Will and Susan Pannill, Rob and Nancy Spilman, Charlie and Nancy Stone and Barbara Reilley.
