Jessi Butker and Chris Ayers, both of Danville, were married on Oct. 20 at Grandin Court Baptist Church in Roanoke. Brian Burnette performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Colleen and Jeffrey Butker of Martinsville. She is the granddaughter of Patricia Tedesco of Clearwater, Fl., and the late Frank Tedesco and Marguerite Butker of Conneaut Lake, Pa., and Burton Butker of Oscala, Fl.
The bridegroom is the son of Carolyn and John Ayers Jr. of Patrick County. He is the grandson of the late George and Virginia Shelor and J. Carol and Marjorie Ayers.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a tulle ballgown with a beaded bodice and a sweetheart neckline. She carried a bouquet of dark blue hydrangeas and dendobrium orchids with crystals.
Sister of the bride Ashley Patton of Pittsburgh was the matron of honor. She wore a black satin A-line gown and carried a miniature version of the bride’s bouquet.
Bridesmaids were Jen Guy Metcalf of Greensboro, N.C., cousin of the bride; Emily Wood of Raleigh, N.C.; and Jamie Eden Peck of Winston-Salem, N.C.
Best man was Scott Clifton of White Bear Lake, Minn., brother of the bridegroom.
Groomsmen were Joe Vita of Lexington, Chase Hall of Danville, Ryan Brown of Chatham and brother of the bride Josh Butker of Philadelphia.
A reception was held at the Vinton War Memorial.
The couple took a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas.
They live in Danville.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Point Park University with a bachelor’s degree in business management and a 2009 graduate of Liberty University with an MBA.
She is a controller at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
The bridegroom attended Patrick Henry Community College and Methodist University. He is employed by Danville Parks and Recreation.
