Michelle Ramey and Michael Roddy, both of High Point, N.C., were married on Sept. 8 at Grace United Methodist Church in Greensboro, N.C. Pastor Mark Weekley performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Mary Lou Ramey of Ridgeway. She is the granddaughter of Betty Simms of Ridgeway, Wesley Ramey of Collinsville and the late Edna Keith.
The bridegroom is the son of Lori Wray of Asheboro, N.C. He is the grandson of the late George Allen Wray.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and a chapel-length train and a veil handmade by the matron of honor. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of purple sheer sterling roses, dark purple lisanthus, caspia and purple hydrangea with ribbon and lace.
Matron of honor was Amy Bristow of Richmond. She wore a strapless gray dress and carried a bouquet similar to that of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Lauren Garvey of New York City, Suzi Bryant of Roanoke, Cristy Cassady of Bassett and sister of the bridegroom Valerie Farlow of Archdale, N.C. Their dresses and bouquets matched those of the matron of honor.
Flower girl was Avery Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Smith of High Point.
Best man was Stephen Hanson of Greensboro, N.C.
Groomsmen were Shannon White of Greensboro, Brandon Berrier of Winston-Salem, N.C., Clint Fulp of Charlotte, N.C., and Richard Joyce of Kernersville, N.C.
Usher was cousin of the bride Chris Ramey of Ridgeway, and the guest attendant was cousin of the bride Logan Ramey of Ridgeway.
Ring bearer was nephew of the bridegroom Chase Farlow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Farlow of Archdale, N.C.
A program of music was provided by soloist Susan Boyles of Pleasant Garden, N.C., and pianist Rich Auvil of Greensboro, N.C.
A reception was held at Kress Terrace in downtown Greensboro.
The couple took a honeymoon to Riveria Maya in Mexico.
They live in High Point.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Magna Vista High School, a 2002 graduate of Patrick Henry Community College with an associate degree and a 2006 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor’s degree in clinical radiation sciences. She is a radiation therapist at Cone Health Cancer Center in Greensboro.
The bridegroom is a 2000 graduate of Randleman High School and 2005 graduate of Guilford Technical Community College with a degree in business administration. He is a senior work force analyst at Ralph Lauren Corp. in High Point.
Prior to the wedding, the couple was honored on the following occasions: Jan. 20, an engagement party at The Loft at Natty Greene’s in Greensboro, hosted by family and bridesmaids; June 30, a bridal shower at the Parish House in Martinsville hosted by family and friends; July 21, a bridal shower in High Point, hosted by the bridesmaids; Aug. 18, a honeymoon shower in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by the bridesmaids; Sept. 7, a rehearsal dinner at Kiosko Mexican Grill in Greensboro, hosted by Lori Wray; and Sept. 8, a bridal brunch at the Biltmore Greensboro Hotel in Greensboro hosted by Valerie Farlow and Lori Wray.
