Sara Jo Campbell of Ridgeway and Matthew Wayne McKinney of Martinsville were married on Sept. 22 at Horsepasture Christian Church in Ridgeway. Dr. Joseph McNeill performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Brenda Campbell and Joseph Campbell, both of Ridgeway. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Campbell of Ridgeway, Thomas Cox of Stuart and Juanita Mullens of Independence.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy McKinney of Martinsville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne McKinney of Martinsville and the late Mr. and Mrs. David Jarrett.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a strapless gown with a rouched and beaded bodice and lace and beaded skirt with a chapel-length train. Her veil had lace and beads. She carried a bouquet of white roses and hydrangeas.
Maid of honor was Wendy Bradner of Callands. She wore a deep teal, strapless silk dupioni dress and carried a bouquet of light pink roses and white hydrangeas.
Bridesmaids were Claire Gardner of Ridgeway and Madison Haynes of Bassett. Their dresses and bouquets matched those of the maid of honor.
Flower girl was Madison Mullis, daughter of Paul Mullis of Ridgeway.
Best man was the father of the bridegroom.
Groomsmen were brother of the bridegroom Daniel McKinney of Martinsville and brother of the bride Parker Campbell of Ridgeway.
Ring bearer was Bailey Stanley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Artie Stanley of Bassett.
A program of music was provided by pianist Joyce Young of Martinsville, violinist Julie Shumate of Martinsville, organist Greta Dalton of Ridgeway and the father of the bride, who sang.
A reception was held at the Spencer-Penn Centre in Spencer.
The couple live in Martinsville.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Magna Vista High School and a 2012 graduate of Averett University with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with a teaching licensure. She is employed by Henry County Public Schools.
The bridegroom is a 2006 graduate of Bassett High School and a 2008 graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is employed by McKinney Heating and Air Conditioning.
Prior to the wedding, the couple was honored on the following occasions: June 6, a shower at Rania’s Restaurant, hosted by the Horsepasture Book Club; Aug. 12, a shower at Horsepasture Christian Church, hosted by family and friends; Aug. 18, a luncheon at the home of Nancy Bradshaw, hosted by her; and in September, a shower at Fort Trial Baptist Church, hosted by friends.
