Eating out is now 'in'
Tuesday, February 5, 2013
Has anyone noticed lately that it seems eating places are always busy? Is cooking in on the way out? As I wander about from the local mall to all around town, it seems eating establishments are taking in the most money.
The other day while at the mall I noticed the two food places were busy, while at other places it seemed employees were just standing around. I even saw that some of them were also drinking and eating since there were no customers.
Think about it, folks; when we all know food and drink is a must do, and that pair of pants and dress can wait a little bit longer. I’m thinking with money so tight and the economy hurting, it seems most people are going shopping with one thing on their mind, and that’s food with their favorite drink.
I tell folks all the time that I keep my electric stove cut off and I let someone else do the cooking. As I stated in a previous letter, someone asked me one time, “can I cook?” and I replied I can’t even boil water without scorching it.
Let’s get real. As we travel from one end of town to the other, parking places at restaurants are very hard to find. In some cases you have to circle around twice and maybe get lucky if someone is leaving. I believe it is almost as cheap to eat out as to eat in.
Let’s face it: when people will say no mess, no washing dishes or putting up dishes, and when I get home from eating out I can throw my feet up and relax to the fullest, we all then can say, “Isn’t life great?”
