The Carlisle School boys basketball team lost its first game of the season Saturday against G.W.-Danville but made up for it Monday by crushing Eastern Mennonite 100-38 at home.
The Chiefs’ 76-68 loss to G.W.-Danville at Benedictine High School in Richmond came after a dominant 75-16 win at Holy Cross. And that was without top players Thon Maker and Eric Johnson in the game.
Leading scorers for Carlisle in Monday’s game against Eastern Mennonite were Thon Maker with 28 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks; Eric Johnson with 23 points and 11 assists; Kevin Cuesta 22 points and 5 rebounds; and Cole Dickerson with 4 points 12 rebounds and 5 steals.
Top players in Saturday’s loss to G.W.-Danville were Maker with 28 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks; Cuesta with 17 points and 11 rebounds; and Johnson with 16 points, 13 assists and 3 steals.
On Friday against Holy Cross, Carlisle’s Cuesta had 20 points and 12 rebounds. Mitchell Hamlet added 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, and Yesid Mosquera had 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Chiefs (13-1) next play at 7 p.m. today against Holy Cross at home.
