Indictments: Woman faces 7 counts
Tuesday, May 7, 2013
A Martinsville woman was indicted on several charges Monday in connection with her job at a local attorney’s office.
Elizabeth F. Chapman, 53, 108 Mulberry Court, Martinsville, was indicted on seven counts of embezzlement greater than $200.
The alleged incidents occurred between Jan. 1, 2010, and March 7 at local attorney Ward Armstrong’s office, according to court records.
An indictment is not a indication of guilt. It is a grand jury’s determination that enough evidence exists to hold a trial.
