Marshals find meth lab in county

A methamphetamine lab was discovered May 3 in the 200 block of Amos Road, Martinsville, according to a release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
The lab was discovered by deputies with the U.S. Marshal Service while searching for a subject wanted on unrelated drug indictments stemming from an incident in Henry County, the release said.
While searching for the subject, U.S. Marshals discovered what they believed to be an active methamphetamine lab inside the residence, the release added. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was notified and responded to the residence.
Members of the Virginia State Police trained in the collection and dismantling of methamphetamine labs rendered the lab safe and collected evidence.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the release.
