President of Chick-fil-A visits restaurant, mingles with patrons

The president of Chick-fil-A made a last-minute stop in Martinsville on Wednesday, according to Danny Wulff, operator of the local restaurants.
During his estimated 45- to 60-minute visit, Dan Cathy waited on customers, emptied trash from their tables and talked to employees, Wulff said.
“I think they (customers) figured it out,” he said, and added that Cathy visits each new restaurant within a couple months of its opening.
Cathy “loved it,” Wulff said of the new restaurant and his experience helping customers.
Also, “he was impressed with Martinsville, and I think he was excited for what Chick-fil-A is going to do in the future here,” Wulff said, but did not elaborate.
Cathy’s “heart is really for service, and he spent some time talking about Second Mile Service” to employees, Wulff said. That phrase is defined as “going the extra mile for your customers and your guests,” he added.
Chick-fil-A has two locations in Martinsville — the new restaurant on Liberty Street and Commonwealth Boulevard and one in Liberty Fair Mall.
