Martinsville police are seeking a man who allegedly robbed the BB&T Bank in Martinsville on Friday.
Around 5 p.m., officers responded to BB&T Bank at the corner of East Church Street and Ellsworth, according to a news release. The bank reported that a black male wearing a white hat with green bill and writing, a bavy blue jacket, glasses, a black and white striped shirt and white athletic shoes entered the bank and produced a note indicating a robbery, the release stated.
The teller complied with the note and the man left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money walking towards Main Street, the release added. Another witness reported seeing the man walking up Main Street near the Ford Street intersection, it stated.
Anyone with information on the identity of the person in the photos released by the police department, they are encouraged to call the department at 403-5328 or Crimestoppers at 63-CRIME to remain anonymous.
Lt. Mark Gilbert and Investigator Donn Shumate are handling the investigation.
