Henry County authorities are asking for residents’ help in locating a man wanted on several charges, according to a release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

Felony warrants have been issued for Brent Ray Doss, 26, of 2560 Blackberry Road, Bassett, alleging robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection with a Monday incident, the release stated.

The Martinsville/Henry County 911 Center received a report Monday of an alleged robbery in the 6000 block of Greensboro Road in Ridgeway, according to the release.

The 32-year-old victim told police that he was approached by a man who said he had a weapon and demanded money, the release stated.

The victim gave the man $60, the release stated. The man then fled the scene in a black Nissan 4-door car that also was occupied by a female, the release added.

The victim was not injured, the release stated.

Doss also is wanted on unrelated misdemeanor charges of failure to appear and assault and batter.

He is described as a white male, 6-feet, 2-inches tall and weighing 155 pounds.

Henry County Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Winn said authorities believe Doss still is in the area.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts, the female occupant of the Nissan or any other information about the alleged incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 638-8751 or Crime Stoppers at 63-CRIME (632-7463).

The Crime Stoppers Program offers rewards up to $1,000 for information related to crime. The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.
