Henry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Wednesday on Columbus Drive in Bassett, Maj. Ricky Walker said.
The Martinsville-Henry County 911 center received a call around 1:07 p.m. that a person had been shot, according to a sheriff’s office news release. Travis Lee Hawks, 26, said he was shot in the right leg and right hand while standing in the driveway of his residence in the 3000 block of Columbus Drive, Bassett, the release added.
“It appears to be two gunshot wounds,” Walker said. “As far as I know, the injuries are not life-threatening.”
Law enforcement officers were given no information on a possible suspect in the incident, the release stated.
Hawks was taken to Memorial Hospital in Martinsville and transferred to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, according to the news release.
