Jessica Renae Spangler and Clay Henson, both of Martinsville, were married on June 22 at The Penn House in Reidsville, N.C. Dr. Joey McNeill performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Roger and Janice Spangler of Fieldale. She is the granddaughter of Elvira Spangler of Ridgeway and the late James Spangler and the late Willie and Hazel Miles.
The bridegroom is the son of Teresa Henson of Glen Alpine, N.C., and Wendal and Lisa Henson of Glen Alpine. He is the grandson of Louise Henson of Glen Alpine and the late Jimmy Henson and the late Carrie Penland.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a lace applique-over-satin gown with cap sleeves, a keyhole back, an empire waist and a satin sash. She carried a bouquet of white and light pink roses and baby’s breath.
Maid of honor was sister of the bride Morgan Spangler of Fieldale. Matron of honor was Jordan Johnson of Danville. They wore light pink chiffon and satin A-line gowns and carried bouquets of white roses and baby’s breath.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer Harris of Roanoke; cousin of the bride Tiffany Gammons of Bolivia, N.C.; Katie Slate of Bassett; Natalie Gongloff of Martinsville; Chasity Wilson of Ridgeway; and Kori Bledsoe of Fairview, Texas. Their dresses and bouquets matched those of the maid and matron of honor.
Flower girls were sister of the bridegroom Bella Henson and cousin of the bride Kaylee Dosher, daughter of Tiffany Gammons of Bolivia.
Best men were the father of the bridegroom and Brandon Johnson of Danville.
Groomsmen were Tyler Cobb of Raleigh, N.C.; Clint Zimmerman, Adam Shade and Rusty Kiddoo, all of Morganton, N.C.; Derik Walters of Gibsonville, N.C.; and Tyler Sanborn of Farmville.
Ring bearers were cousins of the bride Landon and Lucas Prillaman, sons of Marty and Cindy Prillaman of Bassett.
A program of wedding music was provided by cousin of the bride Amy Fain of Critz, who sang.
A reception was held at The Penn House.
The couple took a honeymoon in Charleston, S.C.
They live in Martinsville.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Bassett High School, a 2009 graduate of Greensboro College and a 2012 graduate of Samford University Cumberland School of Law. She is an associate attorney at the law offices of Robert W. Haley.
The bridegroom is a 2006 graduate of Freedom High School and a 2010 graduate of Guilford College. He is a physical education and health teacher at Magna Vista High School.
Prior to the wedding, the couple was honored on the following occasions: March 2, a bridal shower at Chatham Heights Baptist Church, hosted by Morgan Spangler, Janice Spangler and Jordan Johnson; April 20, a bridal shower at Fort Trial Christian Church, hosted by the women of the church; and May 25, a “Pack the Pantry” party at the bride’s home, hosted by Morgan Spangler and Jordan Johnson.
