Marquisa Winborne and Marlon Davis, both of Charlotte, N.C., were married on April 28, at Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte. Grandmother of the bride Minister Savannah S. Hairston of Martinsville performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Minister Linda F. Calhoun of Spencer and the late William F. Calhoun. She is the granddaughter of Savannah Hairston of Martinsville and the late Samuel Hairston and the late Geraldine and William Calhoun. Her sons are Shatique and Shamar Winborne.

The bridegroom is the son of Clemmett Miller and Thomasina Davis of Rock Hill, S.C. He is the grandson of Soloman and Tommie Mae Davis of Charlotte, N.C. His son is Hassaun Davis and his daughter is Cierra Neely.

The bride was escorted by her mother. She wore a chiffon strapless gown with a corset back and full skirt gown and a tiara. She carried a bouquet of red, pink and white roses and calla lilies.

Maid of honor was sister of the bride Cassandra Calhoun of Fairburn, Ga. Matron of honor was cousin of the bride Kelley Huntley of Charlotte. They wore royal blue chiffon gowns with one shoulder, and each carried a calla lily with a ribbon.

Bridesmaids were sisters of the bride Carmen and Camille Calhoun of Winston-Salem, N.C. They wore royal blue, tea-length dresses with spaghetti straps, and each carried a calla lily with a ribbon.

Flower girl was niece of the bride Jaila Calhoun, daughter of Carmen Calhoun and Lamont Atwater of Winston-Salem.

Best man was Mack “Bo” Williamson of Charlotte.

Groomsmen were Charles Webster, Chris Simril and Keith Hicklin, all of Charlotte.

Ushers were nephews of the bride Brandon Martin of Fairburn and J’qwan Scott of Winston-Salem.

The bridegroom sang an original song, and Minister Terri Dobson also sang.

A reception was held at the country club.

The couple took a honeymoon cruise to Miami, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica and Mexico.

They live in Charlotte.

The bride attended Hampton (Va.) University and graduated in 1996 from North Carolina A&T University. She attended University of North Carolina Law School. She is the supervisor of the Sprint Operations Department.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill. He is the supervisor of the Sprint Compliance Department.

Prior to the wedding, the couple was honored on April 6 with a rehearsal brunch at the country club, hosted by the bride, and a bridal shower at Marriott Hotel in Charlotte, hosted by cousin of the bride Kelley Huntley and aunt of the bride Anita Hairston.
