A Henry County man who had been sought on a malicious wounding charge has been arrested, according to a release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
Mack Douglas Shupe Jr., 50, of 6553 A.L Philpott Highway, Martinsville, was charged today with one felony count of malicious wounding, the release stated. He is being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.
According to an earlier sheriff’s office news release, at about 7:13 p.m. Tuesday, the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center received a call that a malicious wounding allegedly occurred at 6553 A.L. Philpott Highway. There, Tammy Gayle Haymore, 45, said she had been cut on her arm with a knife, the release stated.
Haymore was taken to Memorial Hospital in Martinsville and subsequently transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., the release stated.
Haymore and Shupe both live at 6553 A.L Philpott Highway, according to the release.
A warrant was issued for Shupe’s arrest.
