Shooting still probed

An investigation into the shooting death of one man and the wounding of another is continuing, according to a Henry County Sheriff’s Office official.
Capt. Eric Winn said that officers still are conducting interviews and “tracking people down,” to get more information about the events that took place early Saturday at the Econo Lodge, 1755 Virginia Ave., Martinsville.
Jimmy Bernard Tinsley, 36, of Martinsville, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Memorial Hospital in Martinsville where he was pronounced dead, according to a news release.
Brandon Denzel Eggleston, 21, of Martinsville, suffered a gunshot wound to the face, the release stated. He also was taken to Memorial but then was transferred to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
The 911 center received a call about a shooting in the parking lot of the Econo Lodge at 12:54 a.m. Saturday, according to a sheriff’s office release.
Officers arrived and found the shooting victims. Deputies and investigators interviewed numerous people who were at the scene when the shootings occurred, the release stated.

The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards up to $1,000 for information related to crime. The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.
