BREAKING NEWS: Henry teen dies after crash
Accident under investigation

The Virginia State Police is continuing to investigate a fatal traffic crash that claimed the life of a Henry teenager on Thursday.
Matthew Scott Thompson, 17, of Henry, died from injuries received in the accident which occurred around 1 p.m. Thursday on Virginia 687, one and a half miles north of U.S. 58 in Henry County, according to a State Police news release issued Friday.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1975 Craftsman moped was traveling northbound on Virginia 687 when a 1997 International rollback wrecker was attempting to pass the moped, the release stated.
The operator of the moped allegedly turned left into the rollback wrecker and was struck, the release added.
Thompson was flown to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C., where he died from his injuries, the release stated. It added that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
