A Martinsville man was jailed Friday night following the shooting of one man and the stabbing of another in Rich Acres, according to a news release.
The incident was reported at 9:41 p.m. Friday at 30 Abby Lane in a mobile home park in Rich Acres. According to the release, one man, Jose Manuel Ramos, 24, of Fieldale, was shot in his left hand and left leg. A second, Romero Garcia, 33, was stabbed.
Ramos was treated and released at Memorial Hospital, the release said. Garcia was flown to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment.
William Sylvester Matthews II, 42, of 125 Kirk St., Martinsville, was charged with two counts of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and possession of firearm after being involuntarily admitted, the release said. He is being held in the Henry County Jail without bond, it added.
