A Martinsville man is being sought in connection with an alleged malicious wounding Thursday night, according to a Henry County Sheriff’s Office release.
Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Michael Anthony Hairston, 55, is 1104 Brookdale Road, on charges of malicious wounding, use of firearm in commission of a felony, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, shooting within an occupied dwelling and possession of ammunition by a felon, the release stated.
“This individual is considered armed and dangerous,” it added.
At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the Martinsville/Henry County 911 Center received a call of a shooting victim who came into Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, the release stated.
The victim, Roderick Lorenzo Walker, 48, of Martinsville, suffered gunshot wounds to his right and left leg, the release said. He also received a laceration to the right side of his head above his ear, the release stated.
Walker was flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke for treatment, the release stated. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening, it added.
The Martinsville City Police Department also is seeking Hairston in connection with an unrelated case. Warrants have been issued for his arrest in the city on charges of malicious wounding, use of firearm in commission of a felony, possession of firearm by a felon and possession of ammunition by a felon, according to the county release.
