For Commonwealth Crossing

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has granted a final permit needed for the development of Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre to begin, ending a nearly three-year struggle by Henry County to get the permit.
In a news release Friday, the corps announced that it had granted a final permit following negotiations with the county and the Henry County Industrial Development Authority.
“This has been a long road, but today we can officially say that CCBC (the industrial park) is under development,” said H.G. Vaughn, chairman of the Henry County Board of Supervisors who represents the Ridgeway District.
County officials estimate it will take 18 to 24 months to do site-preparation work and grading.
