Two Martinsville men were charged in connection with the robbery of a Collinsville business following a brief pursuit Monday, according to a release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

Roger Dale Crihfield II, 23, of 790 Southland Drive, was charged with robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of robbery, wearing a mask with the intent of concealing identity and possession of burglarious tools in connection with the early morning incident, according to the release.

Roger Keith Conklin, 21, of 580 Southland Drive, was charged with robbery, elude police and possession of burglarious tools, also in connection with the incident.

According to the release, the Martinsville/Henry County 911 center received a call at 3:05 a.m. Monday that a robbery occurred at FasMart at 2758 Virginia Ave., Collinsville.

The clerk told authorities a white male entered the store with a bandana covering his face, produced a firearm and demanded money, the release alleged. The man then allegedly got into a green Nissan Sentra and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Henry County Deputy Travis Hambrick spotted the vehicle, and a chase ensued, according to the release. Following a short pursuit, the Nissan Sentra crashed on Sunset Drive. Two people were taken into custody.

Both Crihfield and Conklin are being held without bond in the Henry County Jail, the release stated.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 63-CRIME (632-7463). Rewards of up to $1,000 are available through the Crimestoppers Program for information related to crime. The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount any of reward paid.
