Mary Helen Prince of Martinsville and Isaac Andrew Johnston of North Wilkesboro, N.C., were married Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville. The Reverend Roy G. Pollina performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Daniel Prince III of Martinsville. She is the granddaughter of Esther Lewis Prince of Emporia and the late William Daniel Prince Jr. and the late Joseph Lewis Shannon and Helen Hodgson Shannon.
The bridegroom is the son of Nancye Duncan Johnston of Huntersville, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Andrew Johnston of North Wilkesboro, N.C. He is the grandson of the late Isaac Prevette Duncan, Anne Hartley Duncan, Richard Blaine Johnston and Elicia Caroon Johnston.
The bride was escorted by her father. She wore an ivory mermaid gown with French Alencon lace and cap sleeves and a floral hairpiece.
Grace Lauren Prince of Charlottesville was her sister’s maid of honor. She wore a pink silk shantung dress with a V-back bodice.
Bridesmaids were Brenna Johnston Duke of Eugene, Ore., sister of the bridegroom; Hannah Elizabeth Hall of Durham, N.C.; Ruth Garland Neary of Baltimore and Megan Gayle West of Raleigh. Their dresses matched that of the maid of honor.
The bridegroom’s father was the best man.
Groomsmen were Joseph Wayne Duke Jr. of Eugene, brother-in-law of the bridegroom; Phillip Hampton Feagan of Chapel Hill, N.C.; William Daniel Prince IV of Richmond, brother of the bride, and Robert Brooks Rollins of Huntersville, N.C.
A reception was held at Chatmoss Country Club.
Following a honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple will live in Greenville, N.C.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Carlisle school, a 2008 graduate of Wake Forest University and a 2011 graduate of Campbell University School of Law. She is the Assistant District Attorney in the Eighth Prosecutorial District of North Carolina.
The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Wilkes Central High School, a 2005 graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a 2012 graduate of Campbell University School of Law. He is a bankruptcy and collections attorney with The Law Office of Richard M. Stearns Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee.
Prior to their wedding, the couple were honored on the following occasions: Nov. 30, an engagement party in Martinsville, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Beeler, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Beeler, Mr. and Mrs. David Garland, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Gunter, Charlotte McClain, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Medley, Mr. and Mrs. Woody Reeves, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Webster and JoeLene White; on March 1, a bridal shower in Raleigh, hosted by Lauren Golden, Hannah Hall and Megan West; on March 8, a bridal shower in Charlottesville, hosted by Grace Prince and Megan West; on March 29, an engagement party in Martinsville, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hodges, Dr. and Mrs. Jack LaFave, Mr. and Mrs. Hank Long, Mr. and Mrs. Brad Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Philpott and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Swinney; and Friday, a rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the bridegroom.
